British artist Damien Hirst was born in 1965 in Bristol, England.

During the 1990s Hirst was known as a wild child in the art world and his work embodied both everyday realism and provocative sensationalism. Known for his ironic wit and cultural commentary, Hirst often explores the theme of mortality through a variety of mediums and techniques from installation work, to painting and sculpture.

A series utilizing preserved dead animals suspended in formaldehyde (including a shark, a sheep and a cow) catapulted Hirst to fame amidst controversy. The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, a 14-foot tiger shark immersed in a glassed display case of formaldehyde became the iconic work of British art in the 1990s. Its sale in 2004 made Hirst the world's second most expensive living artist after Jasper Johns.

Hirst is known for his iconic graphic Spot paintings that depict rows of randomly-colored circles. Supreme will release a series of five individually designed decks and a Box Logo tee designed by Damien Hirst featuring his Spot paintings.

Available in-store November 19th and online November 23rd. Available in Japan on November 21st.

The Stussy x Basil Wolverton feature is now live on STUSSY.com. Basil Wolverton is one of the most well respected cartoonsists and illustrators from the golden age of comic books. He was best known for his grotesque caricatures and work with Mad Magazine. Last summer, The Gladstone Gallery in New York City exhibited a retrospective of his work, showcasing it for the first time in a gallery setting. For [Stussy's] Holiday2009 collection, [Stussy] licensed some of Basil's famous portraits for a series of tee shirts, available now.

Wow. Gotta be honest, not a huge fan of these. I like the siloutte a lot, feeling the red midsole, tuxedo toe-box is straight, but what's up with that disk?! I'm not even sure what the streets, excuse me, blogs, are saying about this one, and I don't really care. Anyway, this is the first Signature Air Jordan shoe endorsed by anyone but the logo himself, so that's cool (good look for D-Wade). Nice write up on the unvieling via Dimemage. Detailed pics here, and a nice 'What if' situation here.

So when I first saw this shirt as part of the Freshjive season preview, I was dumbfounded. Was this a shot at Supreme, its Fairfax neighbor across the street, or The Hundreds, its nightbor up the block on the corner of Rosewood and Fairfax? Well, Bobby Hundreds seemed to think the same, posting on his blog today the following: "…and Freshjive? What’s up with that?? Hmm…"

I'd like to think that its just a Freshjive commentary on the current Streetwear consumer, quick to pick up anything with their favorite Brand Name (Supreme) or Emblem (Adam Bomb) on it, but who knows.

Going back, way back. It's a shame artists like Otis Redding didn't get a chance to share the visuals for their musical masterpieces via music vidoes. Anyway, I got caught listening to this song while stuck in traffic driving home from work, and the imagery Otis paints is stronger than any video could portray anyway. Big ups to Otis Redding.

I remember it like it was yesterday - 1997, Summer League basketball. I convinced my mom to let me come up on these beautiful Air Bacon's. I don't know what drew me to them, but once I saw them on Tim Hardaway (Watch THIS for a refresher), I had to have them. Considering our high school team uniforms were royal blue and gold, I guess this marked my early ascension to sneaker head royalty. More here.
